Let me tell it the way it is by doing what the denizens of New Orleans do: Fire some bullets. There are only a few people I wish would end up dead. However some of those people would have ended up dead that week regardless of whether Hurricane Katrina showed up or not. " They now live in cities better able to take care of them. " A large percentage of the population in the Ninth Ward did not work, and largely uneducated. That makes them dependents of the State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans. With that in mind, they are better off in the cities they got bussed to because they now live in wealthier cities that are better able to provide for them for the rest of their lives. Stop blaming George Bush. Before FEMA they had a mayor and a Governor who failed them and guess what? They were Democrats and with that in mind, perfect. Now, Brown was an idiot, but seriously, blame God too. He is about as connected to your daily lives as George W. Bush was and like Democrats the Ninth Ward prayed to him too. The children of the Ninth Ward are better off as well. Atlanta's schools are really screwed up. The children from New Orleans are so far behind, Atlanta's children were calling them stupid. Damn! Ditto in Houston. Those children will grow up in wealthier cities and states that will be better able to provide for them for the rest of their lives as well. Scores of people will not be murdered, because the population has been dispersed. To summarize, because the citizens of New Orleans and the Ninth Ward in particular live in wealthier cities and states, they are better off.
